| | Hi I'm New | Tamiya TS-7 Racing White Paint Hi, I have just started the hobby again after many years and things have changed a little from 25 years ago. But this website has been great so far in getting me back into things so thanks to everyone who has left helpful tips along the way.
What I'm stuck with at the moments is getting a certain colour paint, the model car I'm doing requires Tamiya TS-7 racing white. For some reason you can't get hold of it, I have watched a video on youtube and I'm sure they used a standard white paint and mixed in a small amount of a colour, which I think gave it a creamy kind of look.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about or was I going mad and seeing things, I know it isn't just white and I want to get the correct colour finish on the car so any help and advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Craig. |

| | No mess, no gain! | Hi Craig and welcome.
What is the car you are building and what would the colour be?
Presumably you are trying to replicate a real car colour?
Have you tried places like Halfords as I believe a lot of their aerosols are acrylic, and they have a good selection to choose from. |

| | All Round Modeller | Hi Craig and welcome to the site, I will certainly agree with Terry's answer above as you will find quite a variation in the paint colours, so there is bound to be something there that matches what you want. Halfords usually carry a good stock too.
Regards.......Mark.

| | Hi I'm New | Hi Terry,
The model I am doing is the Tamiya Honda F1 RA272 car, it's like an off white colour.
Cheers
Craig. |

| | Scale Model Member | Hi Day
As far as I am aware, those particular Tamiya TS range of paints are currently unavailable in Europe due to some sort of "labelling issue", no doubt cooked up by some lawyer somewhere in la-la land
They say they will be available again in 2009 but I wouldn't hold my breath.
A good few months ago I managed to get a tin of TS-17 sent to the UK from a shop in Hamburg, called Moduni, do a search they have an online shop in English. Dunno if they still have any or how they did since they are in Europe too...
Also, some local model shops may have some kicking around I think I'e seen a few odd tins in my local Antics
Try ebay or any US shop that may do a surface delivery...you never know
The things we do to get the right shade of paint eh?
Good luck with it all, cheers, Saul |

| | No mess, no gain! | Nice kit!
I love the race cars from that period. Proper racers!
It looks like it could be similar to Old English White, but that could just be the images I have seen. I reckon you will find a suitable shade at Halfords.
Don't forget to post up some pictures. |
