| Vega & Pik 20 (Pat Teakle) Hi to you all, I am not sure if this is the correct Forum to ask this question, but here goes. I am presently refurbishing a Pat Teakle Vega and building a Pik 20 I want to get the cockpits as scale as possible and have been searching the Web for pictures so that I can get it exactly right. Has anyone any info which could possibly help me in my search?
Regards

*** Dave, the best thing to do here is go to the 'British Gliding association' site, get a contact there and put out a request to any of their members to assist you,I have had a look through my own files for you but sorry no glider cockpits for the types that you mention, the BGA is a very friendly organisation, another tip would be to do a search on the BGA register for these two types, get the requisite BGA tail number and then e-mail the BGA for the addresses of the owner if they are not already on the register itself, then write to the owners,as there are scores of gliding bases throughout the UK you could even have one of these types on your doorstep ?.
Failing this try the manufacturers,Slingsbys are still at Kirbymoorside I believe and are almost certain to have a cockpit shot for the Vega, who makes the PIK ? if you find out the agents or manufacturer then try them.
Hope that this assists you in your search.

| ..or try Mike Shellim`s site www.rc-soar.com All types of model gliders catered for but sure to have leads on scale types. There is/was a great French site that I bookmarked last year but the address seems too long, about 50 characters, so if you email maquettes34@wanadoo.fr asking for correct site address you wont be disappointed. Scale soaring in the Alps and south of France, photographs that make you want to emigrate ! Lots on vintage gliders and large-scale. English , German and French languages. Some nice other aspects of modelling too. |

Dave T | At present I am just coming to the end of refurbishing a Pat Teakle PIK 20 and only yesterday I did a search on Google Images for PIK 20 and got a couple of cockpit shots. There is a marked difference between the two but I'm not going to make it an exact replica so I'll probable base it on the 'grey' instrument panel with the colourful levers from the other version.
I had to replace the tail unit of my PIK 20 which is described here (Repairing a Glass Fibre Fuselage Soarer). |

Dave T | *** You are most welcome Dave, dont forget to check out the tutorials while you are here, there are some ideas for making scale instrument panels for your sailplane which could prove useful to you.
Best of luck in your search and the project itself, and yes please keep us posted as to the models progress in the future.
