Sorted out some more pictures of my Lancaster model,11 feet span, four MDS motors each with its very own servo, two receivers one set for the flight engineer to operate the flaps and outboard motors, full cockpit detail including a tiny map of Germany, navigators table etc nose dome was the part that inspired me to build her, this came from a vending machine toy holder,I looked at that moulding for weeks then bought an Airfix kit of the Lanc and drew up the plans, that was five years ago ! I only work on her outside due to space restraints.
My father flew Lancasters and this model is dedicated to his life in the R.A.F,she will get finished one day,the local museum got to hear of this project and want her as the local AWA factory made them.I could just make another as I have made a spare set of wings.
Cowlings are made of brown paper as described in the Tutorials section.
***There used to be plans for an electric Lanc that could be converted easily for slope PSS work,I think that this was in the old Nexus plans service,or whatever they call themselves these days ?
Roop, you could always carve your own from blue foam covered with brown paper, the fuselage, nacelles etc can be easily carved from this material, the wings could be foam as well, plenty of people doing wing cores these days, built light she would soar like a bird.
Mine was scaled up from the Airfix kit.
lovely model Barry. I love the lancaster. My brother made the standard airfix model of it when i was about 6/7 and i remember loving it. I doubt i need to even say it didnt servive to to this day!
might have to consisder making on as a future project!
Timberland, Lincs: Nassau, Bahama's: Port Canaveral, USA: and all points in between.

Superb Barry, I am really looking forward to seeing this in the air. The lines of a Lanc are nearly as evocative as those of a Spit. Does she have retracts?
I have never seen the 1/48th Lanc kit. That must end up quite a size, even the old Aifix 1/72nd wasn't exactly small.
***The future of this model has yet to be decided as I am unable to use glow fuel any more.
