Grumman Duck Amphibian.

Despite a lot of attempts I never managed to get this Grumman Duck model to fly properly, speaking to a lot of people who have built similar subjects they too have had problems with this design, the central float does not help matters either, but she was fun running across the water trying to get her airborne on the wake, the idea is to make a few runs to disturb the water and then crank her into wind and try to get airborne, but all this one would do is porpoise across the water.
The best amphibian that I ever built was called 'Duckfoot' an old APS free flight design which I built two,one fitted with radio she would lift off with no problems whatsoever.
The Duck was built from a Harold Towner plan.
All part of the learning curve and trying out different types of models.
Eventually I just scrapped this one off, next one will be larger.

Just lets see what I have airworthy on my current list hanging on the wall...26 IC Airplanes,3 helicopters,5 electrics,5 gliders, lost count on my free flight rubber jobs probably about 60 odd, those are the ones with radio/engines fitted I have some new models ready to have gear fitted, they take a lot of room up and I only live in a very small house !
I usually build seven to twelve models a year only these days with one major winter scale project.
I have built over 835 flying aircraft in my lifetime according to my notebook, plus over a thousand non flying wooden solid & plastic models which used to be used for exhibitions around the country.
A lot of the radio models are over 15 years old but still flying, they give me a lot of pleasure, what is your own fleet of models Adzam ?

lol nothing like that wonwinglo, i am relatively new to boat`s, i have been into rc cars for a good few years, haviong raced electric indoors etc.

however my fleet so far consists of....

robbe pt 15 torpedoe boat
graupner mambo fast electric (not yet complete)
graupner wiesel torpedoe boat(undergoing restoration)
caldercraft celia ( now named hazel, fishing vessel currently under going light resto)

36 inch perkasa type torpedoe boat,

billings calypso ( jacques cousteau research ship) un yet built

and a 1/16th scale tiger tank ( fully operational rc)

not quite the collection you have wonwinglo, but a no bad start, i am held back by space( and the one who rules all!) otherwise i would have many many many more

but wonwinglo, that is a good nuthing like yours, and what a nice idea having a log of completed models ! something i never thought of,

do you take pics of every assmbled model for the log ?

Nice collection there Adzam, yes I ake pictures of everything including during construction,I will place more pictures here as I scan them in and get the time.
It is great to look back on the constructional bones and they also serve as instructional pieces etc in articles etc for my web site and places such as this where modellers meet up,it is like one really big club house here and great to exchange notes on our many varied models, perhaps one day we could meet up somewhere to fly and sail the day away ? now that would be good fun.
You have a great weekend there.
