ok here are the pics of how i have it right now

i hope it works this way

i will put some foam under and ontop of the reciever though

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...myplane020.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...myplane021.jpg

also i have developed a problem with the throttle linkage it is pushing further than the carb opens so it will be putting strain on the clevis thing that attaches to the carb arm

the ball linkage thing is on the furthest in on the servo

how can i stop this from pushing more than is needed?

Have you got throttle ATV on your transmitter ? if so you can adjust the throw there, what is happening is that it is stalling out and will burn out the servo and quickly drain your battery pack.
Failing that you need to get rid of the inner snake link, you do not need such an heavy connection to your throttle as it will strip the servo gears in a bump,do this remove the inner portion of the snake, get some thin piano wire about 22 swg, bend at right angles and thread through the servo arm, then bend again so it will not jump out from the arm, thread the thin wire through the existing outer plastic and exit near throttle, now the servo saver bit, make a 'v' in the wire at a point just aft of the cable outer and before it reaches the throttle arm, open the throttle stick fully and bend the wire where it enters the throttle arm, once again with your pliers bend it again to stop it slipping out,now for the trick, open and close the throttle and adjust the 'v' in the throttle wire until you are happy,if there is still a bit of over-ride the 'v' will spring a bit saving the servo from stalling.
You see Ian you do not need that heavy installation for a throttle.
One thing I need to see a side view near the nose,I want to see the level of your fuel tank in relation to the carburettor to make sure that it is correct.
I know these little jobs are a pain to re do them, but rest assured they are vital for reliable trouble free flying, and after all that is what you want is it not ?

ok i was just using what came with the kit

i think i under stand what you are saying about the wire

as far as i can see the throttle doesnt have an end point adjustment on it

only rudder elevator and ailerons

Use the 'V' in the thin wire to make your adjustments to the throttle by opening or closing the gap.
Thats OK Ian kits only show you the basics,we can refine lots of things.
Dont forget I need to see a side view of the nose with the engine installed to see where the tak in positioned.
When you get around to doing the centre of gravity check ( very important ) let me know, and I will work it out for you if you do not have the plan.

By making the throttle rod just long enough to move the throttle open the 'V' closes up thus not stalling the servo, get the idea ? it is called a servo saver and stops stall out, there are various complicated ones that use tiny springs etc but this is the easiest way to do it,did you look on your transmitter to see if it has ATV on throttle ? what type of transmitter do you have, take a picture if you like.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...myplane015.jpg

it doesnt have throttle adjustment just the trim

if it had adjustment it wouldnt be a problem

but i think it will have to be a servo saver option but there is no model shop near me to buy a rods and spring and collets etc

so if possible i would like to keep the snake for now as i cant get the required stuff at this moment

anyqway here is a pic of the radio http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...myplane015.jpg

its a jr magreggor(sp?) apex and is older than me haha

cant find anything on the net about it though

Iain,I cannot see the fuel tank, looking at the picture I suspect that it could be much too low as the needle is above the front top panel of the model, this was a fault with the Hi-Boy,what you need to do is cut the top of the panel away, then raise the fuel tank level uo higher, otherwise the fuel will not feed properly and the engine will cut .
The tank will stick above the panel line but there is not much you can do about that.
I know that it is a pain to move it but it really does need modifying.
