| Hi Richard,
I agree the mud effect does look a bit too dark and fresh on the pics above, the 4th Pic on my last but one post shows a nice concrete effect too..with tarmac sealant between the gaps, in probably the same way you are looking to display too.
Good luck and I am looking forwards to the final results.
Mark.

| Great effects RJ,this will really set your model off to best advantage,I bet that you learned a lot from this exercise in base building ? love the muddy grassy bits as well.

| if i want this to be as true to life as pos (which i do otherwise i would just make it OOB) i need to use tamiyas AS series of spray cans which are only aircraft colours. i can only find one place in the UK that sells them and they are £4.99 each...and i need 4!!!
yes i could use humbrol but i dont have much experience with spraying enamels and it never quite works out as well as acrylics for me.

| I think that looks pretty good Richard and the beauty of it is you can put just about any aircraft on it and change it around every once in a while.

| I just bought a resin seat for this. Although the Eduard p/e set does come with a few bits to enhance the original kit seat it still looks rubish compared to a resin one. I looked at quite a few (i was amazed by how many there are) and i settled on one made by Quickboost (who i have never heard of) but to be honest knowing what the F-16's seat looks (having stared at a 1/12 one for hours lol) it was the most realistic one and also looked the best quality.
if anyone has heard of quickboost or knows of their products please let me know what they are like. http://www.quickboost.net/catalogue.htm
found it on ebay for about a near enough a fiver inluding p&p so im dead chuffed

| Looks Good to me,
For a fiver you can't go wrong, just get it painted up right and that will certainly look the part. It looks good now as a basic moulding so the paint job will really bring it to life !!
Regards......Mark.

| Looking forwards to seeing this one,
And in answer to my earlier post, don't scrap that base you did, it looks great, the only thing wrong in my opinion, was the muddy tyre tracks were a bit too dark, just redo them in a lighter colour and you will be fine. Otherwise it is spot on and looks superb....Shame to waste a good base like that. I agree the Spitfire would probably sit proud on that too.
Regards.....Mark.

| Mark. I have been doing quite a bit of research and my kit is from the 2003 meet....as well as the other one. they where both used for 2002 and 2003. although shorlty after the 2003 meet one of them crashed into another F-16 on a training mission over the belgium mountains killing the pilot (Lt.Col Vaerten)
i have also found out that this F-16 was an MLU (mid-life update) so i need to add a new resin section to add the "bird cutters" (ariels for the AIFF system) i have found it....just need to find somewhere that sells it and get a few! this will also allow me to upgrade the HUD to the MAC HUD found on the MLU's also the entire cockpit was painted black to increase vision in Night Vision mode these are the only three things that are visibly different on the MLU. (so the has 2 kit errors and a painting error) not bad i spoze!
