Hi Richard,

Thanks, Nice to see your research has paid off then in more than one way and that your decals are correct after all. At least you have a choice as to how to display this one now with other models from either the 2002 meet or the 2003 meet. (I always thought they did new schemes for every meet)

Keep it up and I am looking forwards to seeing the pics as she develops.

Regards.......Mark.

well, i cant realy do any modeling at the moment due to lack of funds and paint, but in about a weeks time i will have everything i need to get back onto everything!

In the mean time i have done a few little bits for the F-16.

I made some chocks out of some old sprue, painted them yellow and used some decals from a revell 1/78 tornado ecr tiger (dont have the model as it was naff...lucky i kept the decals!!)

I also used the decals to put a tiger print on the pitot (not many pictures have show it but a pitot cover was made for display when it was not flying. as well as a tiger striped HUD cover which i will do when the time comes.

I also trimed off the sidewinders to make them into "smokewinders" these...if you can guess are smoke generators that dont have the front fins. I have also made the cover to go over the ends that are removed before flight out of some old lead cableing.

Got quite a bit of detail to add to these smokewinders. they have the arming switch connected to the "remove before flight cover" and also, like any low radar signature plane, has the special tips to increase radar signature. the rear fins will also be removed and be replaced by thinner p/e parts.

and yes..the chocks and pitot are a bit shiny, this is because they have not had a matt cote yet after the Johnsons.

Nice little detail touches RJ,I can see that you are really immersed into this model as it shows, you really have to have your heart in any modelling subject, that way you achieve the very best from the subject.
Well done.

i totaly agree with you there Barry. As with the Musashi i have done a huge amount of research (probably more hours than the model will take to make) unfortunatly for the musashi, the information you can get on it is but a pin-prick on that avliable on the F-16.

Aim to do your best on every model!

Right, the main part of the cockpit is done. Just have a few little bits to do but cant untill i have put the CCIP upgrade part on...which i can do untill my Xacto saw comes.

i wish i could say i painted all those instruments and buttons but i didnt. the p/e set was pre-coloured. I had to re-paint some of them to change the colour from Light Ghost Grey to a near black.

Now i know im going to get a die-hard F-16 fan tell me the cockpit is wrong. Yes, this cockpit is wrong. the plane is a MLU but the instrument pannel is not. but hey...its still looks good!

Also done the Aires exhaust. I was going to be using Alclad II Jet Exhaust for this but i want to practice spraying it first so i will use it on another build.

also made the FOD Cover. i did this by wetting a tissue, covering it over. Covering in watered down PVA glue. Waited for that to dry and painted it. Because the paper absorbes some of the colour it also takes away the harshnes of the red.

enjoy...

That's interesting, I never knew that had the joystick on the side nowadays. It would seem a bit strange to me not being symetrically in the centre but I guess it is ergonomically better and the pilot will be in a more comfortable posture.
