| | Hi I'm New | Roland C.II refrences needed Hello all,
I am new here by invitation from Gedubbya. I love building models of nearly all kinds but particullarly planes and robots.
I am currently designing a card model of the Roland C.II, WW1 German 2 seat biplane scout. I am having a difficult time locating refrence pictures of the cockpit and observer's compartment details. If any WW1 buff out there can help it would much appreciated.
I've attached some pics of my 1st prototype of the Roland model for nay who are curious. A 2nd has been built but not photographed yet. I also attached a pic of a balsa carved version in 1/72 scale.
Hope everyone likes it.

| Hello and welcome Getter, how refreshing to see a nicely carved balsa model again, and your card model looks equally promising, the 'Walfish' is a rather obscure subject for internal detail and your best bet is the Crosse & Cockade Society.
Detail of internal nature on WW.1 subjects is somewhat thin on the ground,as we recently found out for the popular Fokker Dr.1 Triplane, plenty of replica machines but not one original of the parts required.
Very nice workmanship there.

| Cockpit photos Hi Getter,
The photos you've posted look great! I've been building paper WWI models for some time now from "Fiddlersgreen.net". They don't create as much balsa dust in the living room.
The attached photos are from my 1/4 Rol C.II and are based on the very few org Roland photos that I've been able to collect over the last 15 yrs. I hope they may be useful to you. Let me know if there anything you may be looking for. I'd be very interested to see the progress of your models when you have time to post more.
Regards,
Vern |

| Hi Getter,
I've been trying to send photos of the interior of a 1/4 Roland C.II I have built but have as yet been unable to get them posted. If you think they might help, I'll keep trying.
