yeah, i agree, there should be a section for flying boats/float planes, it would nice to see other types of planes other than the ones with wings and wheels , there's so many variations around, even dornier have re:vamped an old design , anyone going to give it ago?

The Splash in at Loch Insh Last year was a good weekend and I am a boat person but I realy enjoyed seeing how the others do things. Well recomended. Also enjoyed the Windermere weekend

The first time that I saw a waterplane rally was at Trentham Gardens,the sight of numerous seaplanes battling it out around the highly wooded area looked spectacular,one thing that surprised me was the amount of power needed to get a floatplane to lift off the water,one technique is to do a fast run downwind and disturb the glassy surface,then point the model into wind and open up,the combination of floats on a nice scale model make for a good looking model operating from a different environment.

George ,It is the 21st Loch Insh event in 2005,maybe you could persuade some more boaties to come up. Sail,scale,power,electric, steam ancient or modern, any ideas? No comps just fun ! 2nd weekend in Sept.
