AMT AC-130 to C-130H

Hi all,

I have been offered a very cheap AMT AC-130. However, I don't need the Gunship as I did that a long time ago with the Airfix kit but what I do need is a transport C-130H .
How much modification would be needed to achieve the conversion ?
As I can't see the kit until I've bought it, I am wondering if a lot of gun ports would have to be blanked off or do the armaments just attach to a blank fuselage ?
I know all things are possible with filler and plastkcard but as there are reasonably priced transport versions out there, is the conversion worth while ?

All the best,

Kristian.

Hrmmm, Revel did a real nice 1/72 C130 a while back and i seem to remember a 1/54 from a Polish or (perhaps Russian, i cant remember) company... What scale would you prefer?

The conversion is a good one as its not toooo aukward to do... the windows will need attention, panals cut to fill up the gun-ports and the radar dome housing... the nose will nead a bit of work as well but apart from that the kit ought to convert well... if the kit you have been offered is cheap then just go for it!

There seems to be plenty of these on ebay so that would be the first place to look.

I remember building one of these back in 1976 in Cyprus, I actually flew in one in January 1975 as a nearly 12 yr old kid then (it was my birthday 2 days later) The Flight was awesome sat in the para webbing seats, the luggage was loaded up in netting on the rear ramp...it was only a 20 minute hop but what a flight....and to land on the local gliding club runway strip at Pergamos..once the wheels touched we knew we had landed !!!

Ac-30 Amt 1/72

Hello Kristian;

My name is Daniel van Horenbeek and I live in Belgium-Europe.
Do you sell or trade this AMT AC-130 as you mentionned that you have no further use for it?
Do you live in UK?.

Thanks for a reply.

Greetings,

Daniel
