All:
I have just posted my plane pics in the gallery. I used testors enamel and got a great finish using my first airbrush. I then applied decals using solvaset. Again, no problems THEN the problem started. I applied testors acrylic and all colors muted and all decals resurfaced to show the edging film and general yukyness!!!! Was I supposed to use the dullcoat enamel over the decals instead of acrylics? Well ,all in all not a bad model after 10 years and I named this "Till" after our soon to be born son. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi and welcome i am new to this as well but i found putting a gloss cote on then the decals with micro set and micro sol to leave for a while to dry.After that a put a matt cote over the lot and it seems to do the trick i hope this helps out in some way.

Actually, I did use a matt coat but it was acrylic-not enamel. I used enamels on everything. You know, the fist shot out of my airbrush yielded a milky white coating-maybe I used the wrong mixture? I've always used testors dull coat enamel but I thought it would ruin the decals. oh well, great pics too!

When applying deacls I use gloss varnish then I use micro set on where the decal goes and apply the decal then i set it with Micro sol. When dry and all decals are done i then you matt varnish to give it a better look and not shiny.

i've found a a lite coat of futre in the area of the decal then micro sol and micro set works too. also i put all my weathering under a coat of matt. i find it dulls the effect slightly and stops it looking too toy like.
