This year Teesside Model Air Display fell foul of the variable weather we’ve been having all this season.
Saturday was a glorious day marred only by the stiff breeze blowing across the strip, which made take off and landing a “challenge” for the more lightly loaded models. In fact some pilots opted not to fly, a decision I wholeheartedly agreed with, safety of the spectators and indeed the models is paramount, especially at an event like this that is open to the public.
Sunday on the other hand was constant rain all day from early morning to night with the show to all intents and purposes cancelled, some trade stands were open but that was about it!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see an awful lot of the action as I was working all Saturday in the transmitter control tent, on Sunday I never even went to the field it was that bad.
There was a good range of models from WW1 to jets, I didn’t get to take any photos but below are some taken at the show by “Aircraft in Action”.
