| Flixton, thats the place I could not think of the name of the museum, nice little set up with a pub opposite, the Walbro was at Swanton Morley but I think that is closing soon,Wing Commander Wallis built that replica from plans/photographs of the original that his father made.
'Little Nellie' the Bond autogyro is kept at Reymerston Hall,Norfolk with another 14 autogyros that the Wingco has built, what a living legend this man is !
I understand that he still flies the occasional autogyro into the field adjoining the museum at Flixton to see the members there.
Someone has made a working scale model of one of his gyrocopters,no mean feat.

| I think Micro Mold kitted a Wallis type some years ago, not as good as the real thing I understand. See also in same magazine marathon trip by Aussie VW powered Luton Minor,2500 miles at 50mph,nine days,in 15 hours flying time. (page 53) Whew ! |

| | All Round Modeller | Hello Richard and welcome to the Forums
Apologies for the boo-boo on the Engines on your Mosquito, I still seem to remember it flew excellently and was an impressive sight in the air. The sound of the twin engines was fantastic too...!!
I have never forgotten it flying with The Spitfire and I am glad to hear it is still going strong.
The pic is one I took myself at the Show....Unfortunately I could not remember the builder when I posted it up on here...hence could not credit you accordingly at the time. (I would recognise the name Richard Rawle anywhere though ...!!)
Hope you like the pic...if you want a copy, I can e-mail you a higher quality one than shown on here......just drop me a message and I will send it to you.
Regards..........Mark.

| | Hi I'm New | FIfth scale Mosquito Hello there Richard.
A friend and I in Australia are keen to build a fifth scale Mosquito.
Recently I was thumbing through an old copy of RCM&E (August, pp58, 60) when I saw a pic of your Mosquito when it won Best Engineering Award at Top Gun in 1992...looks wonderful.
Is it still flying?
The article gave only scant details. What scale was your machine?
From what plan was it developed?
Is it for sale?
Do you have any suggestions as to where we could obtain a fifth scale Mosquito plan...or to save work hours, a plan plus epoxy fuselage, nacelles and canopies and spinners?
We have a fifth scale Spit and a Zero and Bf109. this would be in great company for fly pasts.
Regards, Bob Miller Quote:

| | Scale Model Member | Flyable Mosquitos are on the horizon, here are just a few shots of KA114 which is being rebuilt to flying for Jerry Yagen. The rebuild is being done in New Zealand, they have already done one which has gone to Canada and have three more to do after this one. First shot shows the condition of the wing when received.. The projected completion date is early 2010 for debut at Warbirds Over Wanaka. |
