As a young lad with limited pocket money I was always on the lookout for a bargain,new engines were very expensive and radio equipment prices out of the window,but there was one person who had what I wanted,and above all at affordable prices,this was a shop called Roland Scott from Bolton I believe ? the model mags would hold a list of goodies with a price which included postage,good news indeed ! a postal order in the post and the goods were on the doorstep within a week,I purchased diesel engines and even a radio from him,he was my saviour.
Dont know if the shop is still going but the service was quite unique,perhaps we could do with a modern day version to fulfill the needs of those with not a lot of cash to spend ?
