I would lust like to say welcome to all the members that have accepted the challenge and have joined this GB. I will just say that I hope you all have a great time.

I now hand you over to Rick, the Host for this GB. (don't panic Rick, Polux and I will be here to help).

Oh! And try to keep the chat on subject ;)

Thanks to everyone who is taking part in this GB.

Here are the rules.1. The subject is the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom. 2. The GB will run from 1st January to 30th June 2017.3. Participants can enter more than one model.4. Any scale, Mark, Air Force or kit maker is permitted.5. Photos of the box lid, sprues, decal sheet and any aftermarket bits should be posted in the thread. If the builder has a reference photo that they are working to that should be included.6. The model can be posed in flight, on a simple base, a vignette or diorama. 7. Scratch built additions or home made decals are permitted.8. Participants can join in at any time during the GB.9. Enjoy the build.

Well it's just over a week to kick off for this GB and we have plenty of takers; I for one cannot wait to get started. I've just finished my Mig-21 for a previous GB and knocked a load of work out on some longer term builds that have been hung up for a while.
It's a busy time of year and our real lives keep us occupied but can I remind all participants to post their box and sprue shots etc....or I'll tell Santa and you'll get a lump of coal for Christmas!

Just wanted to mention that I won't be using the resin wheels on my Phantom, so if anyone wants them drop me a PM.

Cheers

I've been thinking about ditching the kit wheels for resin ones but I'm not sure the Spam jets have the same wheels as the RAF ones, I might be interested.

Well I'm not after anything for them, so if they'd suit your one I'm happy to send them out. I doubt I'll use them.

I compared the resin Eduard wheels to the wheels in my Hasegawa kit and they are completely different hubs. The Hasegawa wheels have separate tyres which are a bit naff so I will still have to search out some decent replacements so I think I will pass on yours Patrick, thanks.

Well kids, there is only a week left of this GB so if you haven't started already you had better get cracking. For all those who have finished already a big well done but to all who have still to get across the finish line (me) stick at it and show us what you have built.
