Simple camouflage masks.

World war two R.A.F aircraft featured what was referred to as mirror image camouflage,in simulating this with an airbrush requires either a very steady hand,or better still a simple mask to stop overspray, why not make yourself a simple set of paper masks that can be used over and over again ? to do this mark out the shapes onto ordinary typing or computer paper,as the masks collect the paint on the edges they improve, the secret is to place tiny pieces of bluetak under the masks set just back prior to spraying,by doing this it gives the realistic feathered edge as the mask is held just slightly away from the models surface.
If a much sharper edge is needed as on modern aircraft which have a rolled finish literally applied with a paint roller, then simply stick the masks to the surface with household soap, once dry remove the masks and wash the model, this idea can also be used for demarcation lines where two colours meet,it is a lot less harsh than masking tape.
