For Sale: Woodwork Benches + 7" Record Vises

EDIT: Just an update to say that the benches have now all been sold. 10/03/07

If anyone is interested the School I work at are selling 9 Woodworking Benches.

The Benches are the traditional pattern with a central tool well and hardwood tops with a square hole for a bench dog at each end. They are complete with Record No. 52 P 7" Woodwork Vices at both ends. Benches have a deep apron, mortice and tennon frame and a large cupboard accessible from each side plus cupboards on each end.

The Tops are a little "Used" but could be planed down or even reversed. With a bit of love and care they will make a really solid Bench and a Great Addition to any Garage or Workshop. The kids are pretty decent, it's not an inner city school so there is only reasonable damage and wear to the benches.

Most of the graffiti can be sanded off...unless you want to "Mr ------ is Gay" written allover the sides of the bench...

Van Rental is about 27 quid a day or half day - so come on guys!

Regarding the Prices...pretty much if you can load one into a van they are yours. It's give away or pay for them to be "grinds his teeth" skipped....

Lovely jobs Alan. Not only superb workbenches but many fond memories of my own schooldays. If I was in the market I'd have one like a shot but I am now pretty well sorted out with all my work areas.

Many thanks for the offer, I sincerely hope they all find good homes and do not end up in the skip, that would be very dissapointing.

They look great Alan,if I had the room then I would have one myself but like Bunkers all sorted with simple table top benches in my case.

Sold two of those benches on Ebay, one for £93 and one for £103 - one of those is going to be collected by courier to someone's place in France. I imagine Shipping costs will be much more than what the bench is worse!

Anyhow they are being saved from being sawn up for the wood!

Wasn't expecting to get so much for those!

I'm glad about that Alan. It would have been a crying shame to see them cut up. The workbenches I have in my garage are a bolted steel frame with a 1" beech top and a shelf across the bottom. One of those cost 200.00 pounds 6 years ago. The buyers have certainly got a good deal there.

Smile

That's nice to hear Alan, thanks for letting us know.

From what I remember of my old woodwork benches at school some people have got themselves a very substantial work bench there.
