A wash works best if applied over a glossy finish. It will follow the detail and hopefully stay within the lines and around edges. If the surface is matt it will just soak everything.

My good lady has never built one but accepts and encourages my efforts. She sometimes comes out to the shop with me and has a good look around at things, She even has a model in her office (which I built), a Motor bike she rather liked.
She has her hobbies, I have mine and we both have the garden.

A good holder for the tape but watch out with it in the sun. The paper tapes get very sticky as in slimy sticky and if you have any plastic/bendy tapes they get all droopy.

I have bowed down and ordered a set of camo masks. I have painted a dozen or so Spitfire and no problems at all. The camo on the Hurricane is very much the same. but I just couldn't get the pattern to fit!
So just a little bit of extra work then. LOL.
A bit late for this build but Tamiya make some excellent micro saw blades that are paper thin and can cut out in the panel lines.
