I just mixed a bit of humbrol 60 scarlet matte with some humbrol 237 desert tan, about 10% scarlet and 90% tan and brushed it on

Cheers Dave , the reason behind it was to make the barrel look shorter as the Germans new that long barrelled Sherman’s were a threat to German tanks and started to specifically target them Weather it worked or not is another story lol

Cheers bob , I find that a cap full of X20a into tamiya paint makes it the best I’ve every brushed with at this rate I’ll be selling my AB and going back 100% brush painted

This is an old kit but a great one so I painted it old school completely brush painted , with home made washes and dry brushing for the raised detail I’ve set it up as a museum piece

Cheers Ian , it’s the first time of done wet blending on something this big I have done it on a few figures with mixed results , I think practice is needed

This is done and I think the base looks better than the model lol I’m quite pleased with the wet blending on the word war it came out quite well Anyway here it is

Sure you could this is just washes and dry brushing , the mottling effect is just a wash over the base colour then a dry brush of desert tan to create some stripes , I based this one on the colour of the puppet they made for the movie but you could use darker browns so it looked like it did on...
