My list website.

well, over three years ago I started a list for pro and commission builders of sailing ship models (static) which has become quite well established with marine archaeologists, museum conservators and curators and many of the top names in model ship building in America today, we even have a member who is the director of the Vasa Museum in Stockholm no less.
I dont do so much as far as the list is concerned these days having handed it over to a group of managers to run but still keep an eye on it, our website is at www.modelshipwrights.net and there is quite a lot of interesting stuff for the model maker there including a free downloadable quarterly magazine, hope you all like it,

regards, Terry

That sounds like a good idea Terry, any listing of professional quality builders is a good idea, when you see these works of art in museums I often wonder who has built them ? the workmanship is outstanding, how on earth do you place a value on the time spent building these models ?

Although it takes time and practice the main requirements are patience and a love for what you do, the experience will come in time so just keep at it and you will find your work improves and the satisfaction of having done a good job is reward enough.
If something goes wrong dont loose your temper with it but put it aside and later on sit down with a cup of tea and look at it, diagnose what went wrong and how and in that way you learn from the mistakes, like the old saying goes 'the man who never made a mistake never made anything' and it is very true,
