If you need a bit of free space I can set you up a sub-dir xxxxx.scale-models.co.uk or .net that goes for anyone that wants to make a site about models/modelling

That sub directory sounds like a good idea - can you explain a bit more about it please John.

Cheers

Likewise if you want to run .php or .asp pages i can help you out, otherwise i think Johns subdomain would be perfect!

A sub-domain is a partion of a domain, ie:

normal domain www.model.com

sub-domain www.submarines.model.com

Im not sure how John would work the uploads etc...im sure he will explain!

Uploads are done via ftp as normal or if using Frontpage you can use the publish site options, all sub domains are fully functioning sites complete with ftp, email etc and work totally independent from the main one, because it's a Linux server you can only use html and php, asp is a Windows programming language and will only run on Linux with mod_mono installed as this is still in beta I won't be installing it on the server, but for most people wanting to do a small site about their models html will be more than enough

As I said the site it totally independent from scale-models so no it's not risky, also to keep things easier for me it will be a scale-models.net and not a .co.uk
