| Scale Model Motorcycles Hi all
im a woman from the uk who didnt have a choice to get involved in bikes because my partner is obsessed with them
he has owned about 95 bikes in his life time..seems to change his bikes as often as his underwear...
at the moment he owns 6..94 honda cb1000 superfour..93 suzuki gsxr750..2 1982 cb900f hondas and his 2 beloved yamahas he has recently restored ..a 1979 rd250e and a 1980 yamaha dt250mx...he just sold his 1981 rd250lc..to make way for something else...god knows what..heard him saying the other night he wishes he hadnt sold his 79 cbx1000 honda a few years ago so id say one of them will be arriving
anyway as he is a collector of motorcycle models and has many many bikes..lots of unbuilt kits still in original boxes..early tamiyas..airfix..naganos..heller etc..i myself started to collect models and now have started up a little business selling models..
i have listed many many models on my website but still have a lot more to add..even some japanese rarities..and yamaha classic speedblock tee shirts
please have a look at my site
www.skimodo.net
thanks
pauline

| Howdy Skimodo, First, welcome to the forum, we are glad to have you here. other than welcoming you i thought i might mention a website you or your partner might like to have a look at. It ios a page of free downloads of Card models. If you arent familiar with card models, they are models made from paper some, like the ones on this site, you download and print off on your home computer then build yourself. These arent "cereal box cut outs" either, they are actual models. But, since a picture is worth a thousand words, let me let the site do the talking, here are a few of the models availible on the site: anyway, the above model is made totally of paper, downloaded, printed out, cut out and assembled with glue. You can find this motorcycle model and many others as well as models of animals at the following link: http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global...aft/index.html Have a good day and again, welcome to the forum greg |

| | Scale Model Member | Hi Pauline and welcome,
Best of luck with your model bike business. I use to have a nice collection of die-cast bikes made by Polistil, worth buying if you see any for sale as they're worth quite a bit.
Here's my latest "model", a 1:1 scale Suzuki 750!

| | All Round Modeller | Welcome Pauline and I wish you well selling the Kits....I am an ex Biker too and like your husband, I sorely regret selling my last bike which I had from Brand New in 1990...A Honda CBR1000-FK....What a bike !!
For real enthusiasm and dedication to Modelling I don't think anyone can beat this bike being built from scratch by ModelMan as posted on this very site, have a look at the link,
An excellent piece of work in progress !! http://www.scale-models.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4553
Regards........Mark

| My 650 TR
I use to own the real thing. So I got a 1:10 white metal kit and built the model with a color scheme that matched. The only differences is, my real one was dirtier, had bailing wire holding the front fender on, and duck tape across the seat, but this is what I wanted it to look like |

| Hi Skimodo and a warm welcome to the forum. I think there are a number of motorcycle enthusiasts amongst us, myself included, so you are in good company. Have you had a look at my own motorcycle models in my gallery? Have a look here if you haven't: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/galler...c=3&userid=762
I think I am a bit like your partner in so far as I haven't really grown out of bikes and I have always had them from my very first Raleigh Runabout moped on the stroke of my 16th Birthday, through British bikes such as my 250 Triumph single and BSA Lightning, then on to Ducati's, BMW's and a number of Japanese machines.
I currently have a 800 VFR, pre VVT, owned from new and, for me and the missis a Kawasaki VN900. I love them both but still hanker for another vintage machine such as a 750 Four Honda or one of the first Kawasaki 900's. Stuff my teenage dreams were made of!
Anyway enjoy your time with us, I look forward to seeing some of your bikes.
