i've just finished making and modifying this boat for a friend , a pig of a build as everything is plastic and the hull was a nightmare to trim and line up, the rear deck did'nt fit properly, the front deck took ages to get right as there are some curved bits of plastic that have to be glued in to make the join to the hull ,once all of the hull was completed the rest went more smoothly , and i then added exrta details from a book that my friend had lent me , i'm going to build a class s9 next from vic smeed's plan from a few years ago , it's the same scale 1/40, were going to test run the s-130 on sunday , i will get some on water pics, i tested the motors in the bath ( all three of them and could'nt hold it at half throttle on an 8.4 volt ni-cad , should go well?).
oh the colour scheme is taken from the italians , green deck, grey sides, red and grey stripes , the green was for use in the med , the red/grey for air identity.all of the wood steps were added by me , the chain railings , the wheel house glass, the depth charge racks, the front hatch, the aerial supports are in scale position, and the flag is on order.
hi mate
i put plastic strips, then glued them in place to hull and deck, strapped it up so the sides went as close as poss,, then filled the gaps it does take a few attempts with the filler but it gets there
i think there are pics of mine in gallery
hope that helps
