I have been fortunate enough to acquire from a local modeller one of these models having heard of its existence and trying to trace it for some time. The model was built from the original Eden (now Sheerline) kit and has been fitted with a 32nd Parallel torpedo system powered by airbrush propellant. It also has an unfitted compressed air periscope system to be finished and fitted. The length is 103" x 10" beam so it is some beast! In one picture you can see my Sheerline Trafalgar alongside as a comparison and in the background covered in a cloth is my Engel Typhoon. I hope this gives some idea of the size. It will be a litle while before I get this back on the water as some routine servicing work will be required just to make sure everything is working properly - and needless to say it doesn't fit the upstairs test tank or my car for that matter! The sail planes and upper hull attachments will also need a little work but nothing too desparate I reckon. I'm looking forward to getting this one out on the pond!
Andrew,
Congradulations, This must be a crowning glory to your fleet, i look to seeing it in action, please drop me a mail when you intend taking it to the waterside, or if you require assistance in any way
Stunning sub there Andrew, will dwarf every other model at pond side. I have the original leaflets/drawing/ pics from Eden and and the Marine Modeling feature article if you need them.
