My models present and past and present

Hi a newby to this forum but not modelling my first model was a free running Air boat with a Tiapan ( Ausie made) 2.5cc diesel motor built in '64 yes i'm an old fart.
A few pic's of my latest build a WW1 Sub Chaser, only the electrics need to be refitted, I did a complete install before I put the safety rails in prior to painting.

And 2 pic's of my pride and joy bought and built as a project with my Dad to help him through a breakdown after a serious work place accident 35 years ago the Schooner Emma C Berry from a Sterling Models kit, the motor was installed around 1990 as i was living in a towm where the only suitable water was too small to turn her around under sail.
She operates on 4 Ch being the original Futaba FP6D 6 channel circa early '70's, Rudder, Motor 540 style with Futaba ESC also from the early '70's, 2 home made sail winches using archimedes screw principle controlling Main sail on one and the Jib & foresail on the other.

Hi Damien and a warm welcome to the Scale Models forum. Two absolutely superb models there, especially the schooner, just my thing a bit of scale sail! All the more wonderfull for having such powerfull memories attached to her for you as I am sure that you, as most of us, relate a model to the time when it was built.

I look at one of my old motorcycle models and cannot but help thinking of the model shop where I worked as a teeneager, over thirty years ago, when the owner asked me to build it for his window display. When I eventually left he gave me the model.

Tiger you young snipperwapper, no respect for your elders that's your trouble. Well one of your troubles anyway. Added to which a complete disregard for cute cuddly little squirrels and a meglomaniacal desire to annex the back garden.

You know they always say that boys with "Big" toy guns (or tanks) are trying to compensate for something. You want to be carefull if you catch up with one of the Panzerbunnies, they might just have a laugh at you!!!

Those models look grand, and a nice handy size too.

Are you leaving the sub chaser with Diesel? or converting to electric?
