Battle tanks

On a recent trip to the 2005 expo at the NEC, I encountered my first Tamiya 1/16th tanks with battle systems on actually doing battle. Having built one and waiting for a second from ebay, I have never used the battle system, or seen it in action.
These tanks were zipping around, shooting and knocking each other out, then after a few seconds the tanks reset themselves and of they went again ready to fight.
This gentleman had bought 1/16th Tamiya tanks and he had quite a few of them, and started up a business doing corporate work (team building) or just groups doing Tank battles. (I wish I'd thought of it)
You can see that the tanks have taken damage, The kids were giving the some stick, bits knocked of, but, on talking to the owner of the tanks, he told me he had been using them for 4 years, so it would seem that these babies can take a bit of stick.
He had cut the barrels down, and had made it easier to change batteries by lengthening the wires from the DMD MF-01, so you just had to take the upper hull off leaving the turret in place, he had put the on/off switch in the lower hull.
He had also made a alteration to the back of the transmitter so you could fire the main gun using a push to make switch. I had asked which was the best tank i.e. could take all the ware and tare of the Young kids. & for a small fee I will tell you?
It was the Tiger1. I am going to try the modification on firing the main gun, if it works I will Tell you. I have the gentleman's e-mail address if anyone wants to get in touch.

Mike.
