Just a quick note on my tinkerings. Both metal tracksets have now arrived. 1 from Mark-1-Tanks and 1 set from BYA, both sets are exactly the same. With one difference BYA's were £30 cheaper. Also recieved a bunch of other hop ups including. toe rope holders, tow clamps etc I have been promised the rest by the end of next week- suspension idlers etc.
The quality is stunning so far. The wait time from BYA can be daunting, but i feel its worth it in the end. Now all i am waiting for so i can start work is my spray kit (thanks for helping me NIge).
I have a few more "eccentric" ideas for my KT's (none of which include pink paint"
Bought another KT off ebay, but this time a ready built munter! As soon as I removed the packing, it promptly fell to bits. I think the guy used PVA glue!
Some of the bits....................Big glob of PVA!
peeling off old zimmerit in readyness for homemade zim. Now on to some tinkerings with my original KT
Cut out the rear main hatch, hinged it and sprung loaded the clips (dont ask why i sprung loaded them, seemed like a good idea at the time)
When i got the metal tracks i couldnt resist a spin in the mud and snow. I now need to think about some method of waterproofing her. But one thing is for sure, theres nothing she cant handle now.
Now i have been banished to the loft, i find i have more space to make a mess!
Looking good Terry I told you that the ebay tiger was a bit of a dog !! still at least you can give it the credit it deserves now, I really look forward to the pics mate

I'm certainly going to try! Depends if I can get the hang of spray painting.
I have read and reread your tutorial so i think i will be ready to give it a good go after a bit of practice. Most of my efforts so far have been on modifying and upgrading. The pitifull 15 minutes playtime off the original 1700 mah battery has now been extended to around 40 mintues, using 3 7.2v 3200 batterys. 1 for motor, 1 for effects and one for smoker, the smoker now pumps out twice as much smoke with a bat for itself (i found the smoker to be a real drain with two bats. There is now space for a substantial lead/acid battery, but i think i will wait till November when a lot of manufacturers will be releasing the first methanol fuel cells for domestic use. Also, all eratic behaviour has disappeared (thanks again NigeD, the dmd reset did the trick, shame though i am gonna miss the porno cannon!)
Wasn't there a Tamiya model of a Pink Desert Jeep a few years ago and if we can have a "Pink Panther" I'm sure we can have a "Pink Tiger"!!
Seriously though I am always interested in things that can transfer from one area of modelling to another as there seems to be a lot of people who concentrate on thier own areas of modelling and don't realise that there are usefull things available in other areas.
I realise I never put the pictures of my boat with the Nebuliser smoke generator so I'll sort those out later. meanwhile how does the Hen Long smoke machine work? Is it a heater with oil in it or something more sophisticated.
The trouble with heated oil is, of course, it is always white smoke and the majority of diesel engine smoke is black. I havent tried yet but apparently with the nebuliser you can add colouring to the water, such as food colouring, and the "smoke" will be appriopriately coloured. The trouble is the vapour, being cold, is heavy and so I may end up with a very well stained boat for my troubles.
I might have an experiment though. The first person that can achieve black smoke from thier model will be on to a winner!
After exhaustive research....i have discovered that to colour smoke you must add impurities to the oil ie. anything that burns and gives off black smoke normally. I shall be tinkering some more next week. I look forward to setting off my smoke alarms!
dont need to do the impurities bo..... locks...i have been in touch with Le Maitre ....them the guys that make nightclub smokers and smokers for anywhere you can think of thats big!. They are sending me a tub of Glycol/tetrasumthing glycerin. Which apparently is the active ingredient in smoke. When burning, the amount of chuff produced is determined by the percentage of glycerine to pure h2o....he asures me that if i use a bottle of black food colour to the same amount glyc' ...i will have black smoke.....the only down side is that anything that comes near the smoke will get black too...hahaaahaaaaa fun fun fun.
Busy Day!
the mess i make whilst doing my nutty professor!
Scratch built a inner tray to hold all the gubbins, with an underslug clip for the RX. Fitted power switch, Charging socket smoke machine switch and charger cross over switch. Welcome to switch land! The First picture also show the new suspension, I will post some video tomorrow if all goes well.
Also fitted New idler suspension courtesy of Daryl (mysterious bloke that has no website but makes stuff for Tigers)
Ta Daaa! Just got lots of polishing off and tidying now.
