T34/76 Tank

I've just started a Russian T34 tank, and it's starting to take shape nicely

But then I noticed that on some parts of it it's not quite right and doesn't blend in

What would be the best way to smooth this out and blend it in a bit more?

Damn those spiders legs!.....Only way i get rid of them is either be real quick with the cleanex or fine emery the splodge and over spray with less air in the mix. Or smaller spray head and further away....Nige be the spray man tho. What scale is the tank?

It's 1/35 but I didn't use a spray gun I just can't get the hang of them, I used cans on Tamiya spray much less hassle

Thats your prob John the spray cans do not give a accurate enough finish as the nozzles are basically just a hole please percevere with the airbrush honest it gets so much easier and you will be guaranteed a better finish! With what you have now the only option is to respray the green!! dont do the brown as the green will show thru

I can only second what Nige has just said...PErcevere.....I'm only two weeks into sparying and i,m already feeling chuffed with the results i'm getting...PRactice practice practice. the constant never ending cycle of cleaning is a right pain tha ass
tho. Found a neat way of filtering the paint too...instead of straining it...i cut up old tights into squares and attach them directly over the tube with an elastic band....now everytime i swap paint jars i just chuck the bit of stocking, put a new piece on and i can happily carry on. I find it much less messy than straining into another jar.

I have to say the spray cans are very handy for covering a bigger surface.

I did the U-boat hull with Tamiya acrylics in spray tins and the finish was superb, the mess a bare minimum and the cost verging on the ridiculous!!

However when you want to add some detail such as the tank camoflague then you have to get into an air brush.

Alternatives are masking the area and then using the spray cans but if you need a shaded edge you have to get into holding the masks away from the surface which is a bit of a faff.

Sorry guys, yes I did mask it first, bluetac & masking tape.

I find Bluetac to give me a feathered edge providing I don't get too intense with the can

Before

During

After, see above post

After I had taken everthing off there was a bit that I wasn't happy with, so I had to mas it again and give it a quick spray.
