| Newbie.... Hi, I'm a wargamer wanting to build up a usable and Very cheap (and durable!) WW2 armoured collection. Has anyone tried "Hat Industries" armourfast range?? If you have how do they compare sizewise to say the Airfix 1/72nd stuff?
Cheer's ,
Gaz.... |

| Wellcome to the forum Gaz you will find it the friendliest and most informed model site on the net We would love to hear your experiences and if possible photos of your models to share with us along with building and painting tips!!!
As for you question
The airfix stuff is totally superior in every way even though most moulds are over 30 years old Though that being said the armourfast range is designed for wargaming and mass handling unlike the airfix stuff which obviously is designed as a model in the end you pays your money you takes your choice ?????

| Hi Gaz and a very warm welcome to the forum. I hope that you find our resources usefull and that you feel like adding you own experiences and pictures in the future.
I'm glad Nigel was able to give you a bit of help with your Wargaming question. We seem to have a great cross section of most areas of modelling so usually there is one of us with an answer. |

| Howdy Gaz,
Well dont feel alone, in 1997, I had a total of 127 model planes, tanks, and helicopters along with a few "flying" estees type rockets. Then I got divorced (not due to the models lol but I am sure they probably helped in some way).
Anyway, from then till now, all I had built was cardmodels... models that look like plastic but are made from paper printed on your computer.
Having given away some models to several kids of friends that I work with and having sold the rest to two hobby stores and a few to the manager of the local Kmart before it went out of business, I am just now getting back into plastic models.
As you can see by the list of models in my "signature" below, I have gotten a pretty good start, I have even added a few models since I made that list last week.
Right now I am off work with a neck injury and so all I have is time...time to build models anyway.
My point is, you will fall back into model building, its almost like riding a bike, you dont forget how.
So again, welcome to the forum and if you have any questions, ask, someone will be more than happy to help you when they can.
Have a good day,
Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW) |

| A warm welcome Gaz,your interest has quite a following in the model world,we are accumalating quite a bit of specialised knowledge here a lot of it applicable to all types of modelling, for example the latest piece on 'rusting' some clever ideas.
