| Assuming that spares for the kit are not available and not knowing the manufacturer my method would be to put the model on a very simple diorama base with the tank sat in mud or soft earth and put the joint at the bottom. I would then arange the mud or soft earth to cover the joint or gap in the tracks at the bottom so that it can't be seen.
I can't think of any other way of dealing with it really but that would work very well.
For a bit of inspiration have a look at these pictures: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/showth...t=3430&page=12

| Sounds like the Airfix one that i have also built. I had the same problem. they are bendy plastic tracks with a nub on one end and hole in the other. i laid mine out flat and hit them with a heat gun then gently pulled them out a couple of mm's. The effort put in wasnt worth the outcome though. Why didnt I think of Bunk's idea.

| | Scale Model Member | Bunk's idea is excellent, I'd go for that too. If however you don't want to display it on a base then the only thing I can think of is to rob another (cheaply bought) tank kit of it's tracks - there's bound to be something out there that has similar tracks. |
