A big hello to all,
i am trying to search for a number of tanks and other vehicles that i have had contact during my time in the Army, my aim is to display and be able to give a history to my grand children in later years.
i will paint them to my exact colours and markings that i had, also i am no good at working the scale but i do not want them small.
my search is as follows:
Chieftain MBT
CVR (T) Scimitar,Scorpion,Spartan,Sultan,Samaritan& Striker (i have omitted Sabre,as this is the Infantry variant with the small Commander/Gunner bins and the chain gun co-axial MG)
Bedford 4T 4X4 MJ,8T 4X4 TM + UBRE.
Leyland DAF 4T 4X4
AFV 413
T54/55 MBT
M1A1 Abrams MBT

the list goes on and on.
any help would be really appreciated as i have found one or two models but the quality are debateable.
i am looking forward to researching and asking for advice on the colours etc. that i can not remember.

Hi Thunderace.

just recently started modelling . I have found Accurate Armour produce quality Britsh AFV models. including Scimitar in 1/15th in early and late versions. Might be worth a look. They Also do conversions for chieftans.
Also worth a look is Firingline .

It's produced by AFV Club models, I don't have any experience with that make but I'm sure some of the other members here will be able to give their opinions. AFV Club seem to stock a lot of nice upgrade parts and Photo etches etc which look great quality.

many thanks for your replies and help.
i have bought a Scimitar and a chieftain 1:72 scale. it will be some time before i get around to painting as i want to purchase a airbrush and all the paints etc i need.plus i need a lot of researching to even get near doing every step of the build and paint process correctly.i have clocked hundreds of Airfix models since i was young but the desired standard i am aiming for is near perfection. bet you all are thinking a long way off, but if a job is worth doing it is worth doing well.

When did you leave the AAC? Im up at Dishcloth at the moment. Have you checked out www.armyaviation.co.uk. It's full of old sweats and worth a look around, there might even be some pics of your old wagons.
