My Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D w/7.5cm Kwk37

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I have had a long break from modelling...

Anyway, after a long pause from being on the internet I have had lots of time to finish my Dragon Sd.Kfz

I have taken 2 photos, the first one is of the model factory fresh. Purely showing the vehicle as it might have been before the cam scheme was applied

The second photo is of the finished vehicle with a bit of weathering. This is the first time I have applied weathering after a bit of practice. It is still quite new to me.

My models always seemed to lookas though they belonged in a museum, spotless but boring...

I am open to critisism as long as it is constructive :P

Thank you for looking...

Not bad mate, I once did all my models in 'showroom' finish until I was brave enough one day to weather my first Tiger I!

Now I apply subtle weathering, bent side skirts, MG bullet scratches, dirt, dust and rust

Looks cool, a tip for weathering is to apply a clearcoat and let this dry then go nuts with dry brushing, I like winter/white wash techniques - yet to do one!

Looks good! One thing that lets it down, the front tyre looks very black, it might be a good idea to get some weathering pigments and really tone it down with some Mig, light dirt pigment to make it look dusty and crudded up a bit!

The mig pigments can be mixed with thinner or even water and can then be used as a wash to get into the corners too. Would work really well on the wheels on the tracks too.

If you mix with water you can put a lot of it on (the model) and then wipe it away with a damp cotton bud and really tweak the amount of weathering to taste!
