Color of German E-100 Super Heavy Tank?

I got myself a 1:35 German E-100 Super Heavy tank. I have learned that this 170 ton monstrous tank never got to see action as "der fuhrer" put a halt to its production in the middle part of World War II.

Be that as it may, I was wondering what the appropriate color for this tank should be? I would like to model this tank in German gray. The box art suggests a camouflage pattern. Any suggestions?

Howdy Gerry,

Well, you peaked my interest in as much as i had never heard of this particular tank so i had to look it up on google images. Thats when i recognized the tank.
However if you want to look, there are 14,700 results in google images for "E100 Heavy tank" here is the link: E-100 Super Heavy tank - Google Image Search

You should be able to get a few ideas from some of the pics there.

Hope this is of some help, have a good evening,

Greg

i suppose it depends on where you would want to imagine your model fighting.

southern europe? western europe? russia? Africa?...etc

German E-100 Super heavy tank

Hello guys (Greg and Richard)

Thanks for the suggestions Greg. They were indeed helpful, especially the website that Greg posted. In fact, I didnt realize there were so many camouflage options with lots of photos to choose from. As I browsed thru a myriad of photos and documentary write ups, I came to learn that the largest battle tank ever built was the German Maus or (mouse). This behemoth was to weigh 205 tons and 2 were actually built. The tracks were made so wide as to reduce ground pressure (the weight of this monster had to be spread out or the road underneath would crack as the thing rolled). The Maus and the E-100 are in the same league, I've read. The prototype E-100 was discovered in 1945 by allied forces without a turret and never saw action.

I hope a 1:35 scale model of the Maus would be introduced in the market. It would be an interating kit to build. Anyway, Im enclosing some photos of my just concluded German E-100 Super heavy tank with a newly painted camouflage pattern. I hope I did right.

Gerry

Have a good day and I look forward to your next project
