R/C Model Tank Club

Hello guys, I'm heavily into r/c ww2 armour and am looking for a club of like minded people in the Edinburgh/Lothian area.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? I want to try out the tamiya battle system for the 1/16th tanks (got a tiger1) but need someone to fight against!

I also own a 1/6th Tiger 1 which has to be seen, the pics don't do it justice and soon to own a 1/6th Hanomag 251 halftrack.

Cheers

Dave

There are a couple of members of theEdinburgh Model Boat Club who have such beasts. Try asking George or ajg who are regulars on here, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

hello stormie, i myself am in the edinburgh area (portobello) and have wondered if such a club does exist. unfortunately i have a tiger 1 like yourself so it wouldn`t be much of a battle

i am not aware of a club but i do know that one of the local modelshops (wonderland) has sold quite a few of these tanks in the area.
maybe an advert in the shop for like minded people wqould be a start.

as for the 1/6th scale , i envy you m8 .
i had the oppurtunityyu for one about a year ago, but had absolutely no where to keep it.

pm if you get any more info m8

Adz..

Hi Adz

I've just bought the 1/16th sherman from wonderland last Friday! Once she's up and running I'm hoping to get a couple of battle systems!

I was asking the guys in the shop if they knew of any clubs but they didn't and suggested searching the web! (that's how i stumbled over this forum). They also told me they have sold loads of the tanks!

I think I'll pop in and leave my contact details and see if I get any interest.

I'm a member of th UK Tank Club but their meets are all down the south of England and I rarely get the oppertunity to travel down. It would be great if a few like minded folk could get together up here!

Will pm you if I get any response!

Cheers

Dave

Is this subject dead or just dormant?

Leafing through the net I developed a taste for a 'Tabby' and perhaps a T-34 in1/6th scale, I remember seeing the edinburgh guys with 16th scale tanks at their tug towing day last year and wondered if there was any interest in tank battles etc in central scotland?

The 1/6th scale girlies are not THAT big, but the 1/4th scale would be too big for me and storage would be a problem for something that size.

But I really fancy some action either with the BB's from Hen Long/Tamiyas or with something larger if there was any interest. The price of the bigger tanks is just daft and way out of my reach, I imagine that more fun could be had building them as seen on the US tank battles site.

Any comments?
