Cruiser Tanks

Hello all
Nothing to do with a build but can someone tell me why some Cruiser/Cromwell Tanks
had a lot of what looks like Degree markings on the turret and seems to be only on the shorter gun models
I have tried to find some info on the net but as yet no luck

The markings were for Centar tanks attatched to the Royal Marines on D-Day to enable them to fire from the landing craft .These tanks were supose to be handed back after the landings but went on into france.Hope this helps

Thanks morris these must have been on LCT then I presume then a fire control officer had to in the wondering about the boat as he would have been the only one to see if all the turrets whre pointing the right way any idea if he would be part of a tank crew or boat crew
