Brilliant job as usual mate, well done. Makes me want to run up stairs and put on the old electric blanket.

After seeing the superb finishing/weathering on my fellow forumer's models I decided to re-paint one of my Tiger 1 tanks, 'borrowing' ideas and suggestions from the threads. I have used the whitewash coating as it seems to be all the rage at the moment, sweety!!
In the past I have limited my model painting to the bare essentials. This time I have tried to add a bit more detail to the weathering etc.
I would like any comments for improvements please, so I can add to the model as I read them.
You will note the lack of cammo. on the wheels....When doing a bit of research I read that late on in the war painting of the road wheels was banned as it was discovered they gave off a 'flashing' effect when on the move...So there!
I hope you approve thus far....

Look's great Ron, love the way you can see the brush marks and the bucket there's too. But, i would like it mate, i have a soft spot for the Tiger 1 in snow camo.
John
If you don't mind me saying so Ron, that's your best work so far or should I say, the best that I've seen-doubtless you've got more stashed away somewhere!. I love the rust on the front right side and the detail in there. I do hope those jerry-cans only have water in them-wouldn't fancy flaming petrol over the turret!
Smashing stuff mate, keep it up!
Patrick
Thanks for your feedback boys, much appreciated...My reason for suggesting this Tiger as a guinea pig was so we can all add our tuppence worth and I can try and oblige that way we will end up with a near perfect Tiger!!!!!!!!! lol.
John, don't forget a bucket on YOUR next tank!
Patrick, re. the jerry cans, and I only found this out by chance and I hope this will be of help. They have a white cross on them, this signifi.es drinking water only...couldn't you have fun with someone you didn't like , particularly an Officer!!
Cheers boys,
Ron
I have just received a very humbling and embarrasing message requesting some more close up photos, so I hope you will indulge me just this once.
Thank you,
Ron
Nice one Ron, I thought the white cross meant that but I was unwilling to display my ignorance if I was wrong! And let's have more close-ups generally, that's the test of a good build!
Patrick
love the tiger , would there be worn parts of the white wash around area's of use ? showing the standard camo ?
Good point, however this Tiger 1 belonging to the 501st was shipped from Tunisia to Italy and then to Russia. It was just painted in desert yellow on arrival, so they just slapped the whitewash on over that.
Quick thinking ,eh?
I will hopefully attend to your request tonight. :music_too
