Now i can snow you this one.

Sd.Kfz.251/1 AUSF.C from AFV Club in 1:48 scale, i built this about three months ago but i couldn't post any photos up because it was for a Group bulid. But now it's over it's time to show.

Right, this was painted with a brush (airbrush broken). So i painted and weathered the interior then glued the lot together (which was fun, NOT). I've built 1:35 AFV Club in the past and i think the 1:48 scale has the same number of parts, only smaller. I wanted to try something with this one so the lot got painted in German gray as in the real vehicle, now was the time to play and "have fun". I've got some Art Masking Fluid (Winsor & Newton) and put it where the crew would climb over it then gave it a good old white-wash. And you know, i liked how it turned out, after the masking fluid was taken off, it gave a 3D look. After some more weathering on the white-wash i got the look i was looking for and left it alone.

The snow was the idea from Patrick's (dudster72). You see Patrick, this is the model why i needed to know. This was the first time i'd used baking powder. The display case is a spare one from a magazine i get (Combat Tanks Collection) so, i made sure it fitted ok and the base got the snow.

I shouldn't have looked at this on such a cold day-made me turn up the heating! Love this one John, you've got the whitewash just right & your snow is excellent-you must have learnt that from some clever chap! ;o) that's a good tip about masking, I wonder if you could do chipping with Maskol? As Scott says, it looks really cold and that has to be a measure of the effect you were after. Very well weathered and the snow looks spot on. You do get a sense of just how cold and uncomfortable it must have been living and fighting in these vehicles. Great build John.

Thanks you lot, much appreciated. I'm just glad the Group bulid is up, it was killing me with it just sat there and no one couldn't see it. The only problem, now i've posted this up it's started to snow here (just my luck).

Patrick, i can't see why you can't use maskol, it should be the same mate.
