Heng Long 1/16 Scale German Tiger 1 Tank Tiger 1 Late Production Special Edition

    Hello all,

I have just joined this forum after receiving the above tank (couldn't afford a Tamiya!) for my birthday which is today. Anyway, what I'd like to know is how do you guys fix all of the extras onto your tanks like ammo crates and fuel drums etc?

I noticed someone else posted about this tank way back, didn't think much of the paint job back then. Mine looks awesome, factory weathered, there is a link at the bottom of this page showing a picture, although mine is more of a light green/black. If anyone is interested I can attach a few images of mine.

    Many thanks,

    Doodle

Hi Doodle, welcome to the site. I don't know much about R/C stuff, although I've heard that Heng Long don't have the best reputation in the world! Still, a 1/16 tank is never to be sniffed at! With regard to your question, most pics that I've seen show the fuel & ammo pretty much stuck wherever there's space, so the engine deck & turret are favourites. Of course, this is much less likely when going into combat, no-one wants a jerry-can getting hit by enemy rounds! Post up some pics, I'd love to see them. Patrick

    Hi Doodle

Hi Doodledoo and welcome. Heng Long are ok, not had any problems with my Tiger (yet). The new stuff they are coming out with now has better radio gear. The old Heng Long tanks had a problem with the circuit board (setting on fire). Mine is the old one so, it's on borrowed time. It's now in snow camo but going to get a repaint sometime this year so, i'll be getting my stuff from Welsh Dragon Models.

Video of mine (sorry, i just like showing it)
YouTube - Heng Long Tiger 1

This is a good site for extras.
Welsh Dragon Models specializes in the sale of upgrade parts and accessories for 1/16 scale radio controlled model tanks.

    Have fun, John

Nice job on the paintwork and weathering John! I'm having a bit of trouble with the smoker unit, it's just stopped working, I may have over filled it but the shop said just to use 2-3 drops of oil but the manual said 4-5ml, a big difference. Will it smoke again if it's over filled?

I can't see why it shouldn't work after Andy, just drain some off and see what happens. Mine is just the tank (no sound or smoke), got it cheap from a friend so i played with the paint but later this year it's going to have a zimmerit coating and just make it look used (lots).
