    Dragon Sherman mkIII "Clive"

Well I guess its time to face the music and post something on here that I have built!
Its not 100% yet, as it is all to clean. Me thinks it needs some desert dust...
This is a couple of firsts:
First Dragon kit; (are there always so many bits left over? I could almost build another tank!)
First tank; ( well in 30 years, last time I did a tank i had to save up from my paper-round money!!)

Hope you like it and I am open to suggestions as to getting it sandy...
Right lets see if I can figure the pictures out.

John is right Ian, this is very good. You have that 'walked all over' look spot on and nothing fancy ...My congratulations.

Tanks guys (sorry) Looking at the photos, i see i forgot to paint the MC in the turret! Tha paint is drying as we speak! Ditto the antenna.
S'pose I better get a base done for it now.
Need to get hold of some figures. Italeri made a set of a tank crew. Have to try and get hold of one some where. Five tankies, a table, and a machine gun.

Talking of which: Why have Dragon chosen not to include the (insert correct type here) machine gun on the top of the turret? can one be found that would be suitable?

Ian, that's really nice so far.

I'm not criticising but I think you're right in saying a little dust would help - especially on your tow cable. It's unlikely that it would stay nice and shiny like that for any great length of time.

nice job ian, well done. If i might be so bold as to offer advice on weathering (seen as im only a plane man , plus no one else has offered yet!) Try getting a sandy coloured chalk pastel and rubbing it on a bit of sandpaper to get some dust . Then get a big mop headed brush and dust the pastel powder all over the tank. Enough should stick to give a dusty ,sandy effect. If you try this first ,getting your pastel as cheaply as possible and nicking one of your missus' new make up brushes, then it shouldnt cost alot .If it doesnt give you enough of an effect then you may have to get one of the specialist pigments from mig or tamiya but these are A LOT more expensive! hope this is of some use , cheers tony

    Thanks Tony.
I did find my pastels from the depths of the art cupboard, but they where oil pastels, so I guess I'm off to the art shop in the weekend! Knicking the wifes make up is a no-no; she don't use it/have any.
Gern; I had actually painted the cable and it looked ok, apperantly I managed to rub off all the paint when I was getting it to sit the way I wanted it to. So agree 100% there, needs doing again.

Klear: klear, future, etc., is rather elusive over here. Just asked on a Danish Model forum to see if there is any one here that has found a substitute.
