Trucks, trucks, trucks, I'm stuck on these for some reason. Been in the stash forever. Cleanup, glazing & some paint done. Working different tires, axles & rear suspension to provide some flexibility.
Diamond T 969.JPG
Destructions are deplorable, and less than useless. Researching rigging & winch details as some items are not represented. Understand now why in stash so long. PaulE

That looks intense Paul. Take my hat off to you for giving it a go. I hope these might help you mate. It is the Sterling heavy wrecker but the cabling may be the same

No doubt you will beat it into shape, but disappointing that the distructions are useless, it's like it was an after thought. " oh we had better put something in ." " What " " oh anything "
Some nice photos there Steve.

The 6tonner tow rig next to it is also "purpose built". Here's some discussion only pics of what I'm trying to duplicate.

Paul,
Already looks like you're well on your way. I remember the great job you did on rigging your shovel and clamshell. No doubt you will prevail on this as well.
Regards, Rcick H.

Hi Paul,

think your rear axle may be bent or loose - it looks like it has rear wheel steering :smiling:

Good luck with the rigging

Thanks guys. The beauties of resin Simon. Dimples to drill from. One of the reasons why I wanted to use the other wheels. Apparently I drilled these two crooked.
Thanks, I'll need it. The pieces to rig around are very delicate and not all represented, so some scratching will be required. PaulE

Starting work on tow rig. Scratched in power takeoff and winch drives, used ROCO O/A tanks as the kits' were too small. Drilled many holes for cable routing & collected many bits/bobs for scratching/completing the ends of the booms on right.

The beauty is Paul when you've been modelling as long as you , you have such a treasure chest of spare parts. Bet you never throw anything away .:smiling4:
Must be a great feeling when you come across just what you need .

Yes indeed. Two shoe boxes full of misc. stuff plus many compartments/drawers of sorted stuff. Check out the bench vise just to the right of the shovels & axes found in my model RR stuff. Just what was needed to mount on the front bumper as seen in many WWII photos.

Thanks Steve. A shot of the bench w/its' many distractions. Currently jeeps, 1/4 ton trailers & half tracks. Found some buys on-line to fill in some gaps + some much needed 2.5ton truck serial# decals.
