One day I might be brave enough.

But not today.

Can't wait to see more.

Tony.

Look forward to seeing it come together David.

Tony. Just take a deep breath and go for it! I did and it wasn't that bad. Was it?

No worries fella. Mines at the just built stage with a bit of primer on it so I'm a little bit behind I think, where are you having troubles?

Making the seam lines disappear. I've filled and wet and dried, and also tried using super glue, but there is still a faint seam line. It's difficult to do without losing details. Think I prefer planes....lol

I take it you're talking about the ones in the legs mainly on the outside of the legs??

I have the same so I'm going to try something if it works I'll let you know and I'll take some photo's as well

There is a deeper seem from what I can make out that one must stay as it is. However there is a faint seem between the two torso parts I've used Vallejo plastic putty applied with a cocktail stick don't put to much on

then with a cotton bud make it damp not soaking wet and wipe accross the seem then paint over that if there is still a seem keep repeting until it goes.

Sorry no photo's as the plastic putty dries very quickly when applied in small amounts.

You need to build it up slowly.

Hope it helps

Regards

David

Update

Hello all

sorry got a bit carried away but stopped to take a few photos lol

View attachment 37920

Almost all the base colours are now on I hope you can see I've done some dry brushing on the magazine pouches I mixed Vallejo Canvas and light flesh for the colouring.

View attachment 37921

Full view and I remembered to reapply some base flesh on the nose and chin lol

Most of the work done so far has on the personal kit, I've tried something new this time, something I tried on a pilots seat that I've just painted and it didn't look to bad so thought I'd try it on this figure.

What I've for the gas mask canister, entrenching tool and knife is to paint them flat black, then dry brush black grey, light grey and finally light flesh for the highlights and to give the kit that beaten up war used look, I've still to do the wooden handle of the entrenching tool. As for the paints I've used the following

Vallejo model air flat black 71057

Vallejo model air flat black grey 71056

Vallejo model air flat light grey 71050

Vallejo model colour light flesh 70928

A close up

I thought I'd try the same idea on the boots but this time I used the following

Tamiya XF-1 flat black

Tamiya XF-69 NATO black

Tamiya XF-53 Neutral grey

As this will be the last update on this figure for this |(crumbs where did the year go?????) I wish you all a happy new year.

Regards

David

Marvellous paintwork there David, it looks really well.

I must confess that with my SIG 1/16 Tamiya figure I just couldn't get on with his big 'conk' (I suspect they all have the same face) so I have filed it down a bit!! lol

A happy New Year to you too.

David, that's looking really superb! The face awesome.

Can you give us an insight as to how you achieved such nice flesh tones and what Vallejos you used? (unless you've already mentioned it and I'm being silly...). ;)

I'm using the following base paints

Vallejo Panzer Aces Shadows flesh 343

Vallejo Panzer Aces Flesh base 341

Vallejo Panzer Aces highlights flrsh 342

They will make up the base layers but I'll also use

Vallejo fleshtone shade wash 73204

Vallejo model colour salomon rose 70835

Tamiya weathering master sets G & H

Most of the later will be dry brushed on

Hope that helps

David
