Finally arrived, super keen to get started.

The issues I've found with the kit are not issues to me, if that makes sense. Molded on tools, closed hatches, and some unusable figures due to closed hatches also no p.e grills but it has moulded Zimmerit so I'm still happy.

I got the kit for NZD 19.35.

And it came with a full figure set which is the scaled down "tiger aces" figure kit. I do not plan on using them.

Danke.

Nice one Aaron, it finally arrived! I have the 1/72 Hasegawa Tiger I waiting for the day when I take a plunge into armour. Will watch to see how you do yours.

It took 16 days from across the pond.

I have seen the hasegawa tiger, we could have done a buddy build. :smiling3:

My next post in this should be the completed build right?

16 days is a long time to wait! Maybe later if you have another, we could do a buddy build. Normally we post progress shots and comments along the way and then present the finished build in the completed section. I've got no idea on tanks so seeing the progress of this one will help me with mine later. Aircraft are easy enough to build and paint, their construction is pretty straight forward, but these things have lots of extra bits hanging off them so I am interested in seeing one go together in stages.

I forget to take pics when I'm in my zone, but I'll try to take some for you bro, funny because I feel like most Armour is easy to build but struggle with aircraft.

Wow! This will be a paintwork challenge! After a look at your tiny last tank, I'm sure this will be magnificent!

Hey Polux mate, I'm stressing on how to treat the zim when it's wash time.

I'll be want to accentuate the zim pattern but not overwhelm the base colour.

To be honest the kit has a few fit issues and broken instructions, but it's all good.

I'm interested to see how this one goes together Aaron as I was tempted to buy one myself!

Some of the newer Dragon 1/72 kits are said to be poorer than their predecessors, which is what stopped me.

Cheers

Patrick the Dragon 1/72 initial production is apparently a dream to build, so that is on my list.

I'm finding this kit is fun but querkey in places. Definitely a wise decision to steer clear, but then again the figure set is really nice.

An update just to show some progress

I wish I could put the first 3 pics together as one. They show the turret mg, none of this is in the instructions and the mantle had a little half hole so out with the pin vice.

I added slots with a heated screwdriver, these were missing.

Unused holes filled with stretched sprue, waiting putty.View attachment 96955

I drilled a hole and used sprue as a tow lock. No idea if this is cannon or not but it adds a little detail.

And finally I added wired to the light, I've seen this done on 1/35 scale so I thought I'd give it a go.

Thanks for looking, sorry it's so pic heavy.

I haven't started on the running gear yet because I know it has issues with the idlers.

I did add a headlight wire to my King Tiger, some thin fusewire worked well.

The quality of the tools moulding is abysmal! I'd expect much better for a lot that retails around the £20 mark!

The unused holes on the upper deck are the tow cable brackets, so I assume you're not using them Aaron?

Nah mate they give 1/4 of what's needed for tow cables. I thought about taking the hooks and drilling them out but it's just too much work .

I agree about the tools being a freaking wreck.

Cheers Joe and Rick, It is kind of refreshing to have some stuff to do on this kit, my last Dragon kit in this scale fell together so easily that my modeling beast was barely fed.

Thanks Monica, I've spent about the same amount of time on the running gear that I've spent on the rest of the kit.

Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to comment.

Thanks Wendell, update on its way mate.

Monica, I have the same issue and miss some awesome threads. I get paranoid that I post too many comments when I am active. I look at the recent posts and the whole list has my icon next to them lol.
