I don't have one specific hobby as such, but tend to bounce from one thing to another as and when the 'Urge' takes me.

Here are a few of my watercolours done when the bounce goes in that direction.....

Thanks chaps. I'm well chuffed you all like my stuff.

I hope you will indulge me for one more picture, 'cos its my favourite and I forgot to include it. It has a story too.

When my wife and I were sailing, we sailed out of Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey N.Wales. The famous Moelfre Lifeboat Station was just a couple of miles down the coast.

One day when we were out, the whole Island was caught out by a totally unexpected force 9. All the Island's lifeboats were out on a shout. We were beginning to go sideways for the Isle of Man!
I had radioed the coastguard and advised them of the situation but said I didn't required assistance. - Yet! The Lifeboat crew said as they were already out, spotted us and decided to come alongside and towed us back to Moelfre. Wonderful people... :thumb2:

It is a tradition when anyone is rescued, a donation is given to the the Lifeboats. I've been a member for years, so I decided to paint a picture of the Moelfre Tyne Class Lifeboat which 'Rescued' us, put it in a frame and along with an extra donation and a crate of beer presented it all to the Lifeboat station.
If it still hangs on a wall there I'll be well chuffed!

Here's the original picture.

No more, I promise!
Cheers.

These might be of interest to someone and I hope you will forgive this flash of total and unadulterated self indulgence.

My 7 yr. old Great Grand daughter has a new passion - for Lions...Toy ones, knitted ones. You name it. Her parents asked if I could do a water colour of one for her to have at Christmas to hang on her bedroom wall. Like a fool I agreed. No pressure. For one thing, I've never painted an animal, also I've never painted for anyone else except for my own amusement.

Here it is...

By a strange coincidence, my son's wife asked if I could surprise him at Christmas with a painting of their recently acquired, rapidly growing German Shepherd 'puppy'/ dog 'Ted'. Again I agreed. I must be getting soft in my old age. Anyway, here he is.

This one is a surprise prezzy for the wife at Christmas. It's on one of our fav. beaches. We've had many a picnic with our backs against the sides of the boat.

I hope you boys approve and don't mind me showing them as I'm rather chuffed with the outcome.....

Sentimental old fa**, or what?

Cheers.
Ron
