Fokker EII

Eduard 1/48

well out of the comfort zone with this one.......i rarely do aircraft cos i find them difficult, ive never done rigging....but whats life for if you dont try pushing the boundries every now and then

Paul,
nice choice! Eduard kits go together well, so the basic build should be good. Which method are you going to use to rig this beauty?

Nice one. I built the little Airfix 1:72 a while back but do fancy something a bit bigger. It will be nice to see this one built.

Good choice Paul
Always liked the look of the Eindecker. Funnily enough, went to Keyhaven near Lymington birdwatching yesterday, and one of these flew by on its way to the Bournemouth airshow. It was accompanied by two SE5s, a Triplane, and a spotter that I couldn’t identify....
Cheers
Tim

Hi Paul
These Eduard kits make up into great models. Not seen this one done before so I'll be interested to see it come together.

What's wrong Paul, Eduard are meant to be one of the better manufacturers.

nothing fits as it should.....had to do 'surgery' and lots of filler

its the third eduard plane kit ive done and ive not been impressed with any of them

Interesting one Paul, sorry to see that it has severe fit issues.

Eduard's first ones are said to be a handful to build, maybe this is one of them?
Build their SSW and DR.1 not long ago and they were great, same goes for their Spits IMHO.:smiling4:

Hope the rest of the build goes without any serious issues.

sorry to say but this little Fokker is back in the box!......been struggling with it anyway and now it seems the carpet monster has laid claim to a vital bit, so until it turns up or i get round to looking in the spares box for a replacement its on hold

I think that the Fokker E.II derives from the E.III produced by Eduard in 1993 - looking at the catalogue number of 8002, it seems to be one of the first 1/48 models made by them!, so maybe it's not surprising the fit was a bit hit or miss. I remember building an Eduard Sopwith Baby around the same time, and by the time I'd finished, there was more Milliput than plastic!
