Hi Guys,

Started this one yesterday as I am almost finished on my Tornado build. I think this one should be a relatively quick build (famouse last word), despite the 8 or so figures that come with the kit. :smiling3:

First up, box & sprue shots.

I was quite pleased to see that in the colour call out they also included several reference shots of an M40, albeit a restored static display.

Bob,
if you fancy a drive up the M11 to Duxford they have one of these you can have a look round and take some pics.

Thanks for that Paul. I've been meaning to make the trip to Duxford for a while, this may be a very good excuse. :smiling3:

Tamiya seems to have really gone to town on this kit, looking at the parts anyway.

Bob,
Just pulling up a seat to watch the build. As an aside a long time ago there was one of these minus the gun barrel on the ranges/training area in Norfolk in the mid 1960's, but where it is now is probably in the scrap mans bin.
Mike.

Nice they give you detail pics. I built one like this, by Revell I think, back in the fifties, 1/32 maybe? Not as detailed for sure, but very robust. I remember you could push it around over uneven ground and the tracks & bogies would work like the real thing. Had 3 or 4 figs too. PaulE

Cheers Ian. :smiling3:

I've actually skipped a couple of steps. The instructions would have you add the wheels to the bogies, and the bogies to the hull. However I want to paint everything separately then put it all together.
