Good effort on the weathering. Just experiment and see what happens - it can all be re-painted..

As its my birthday I thought I'd take the day off and do some modelling.Yesterday,I toned down the faded paint effect on the model. So today I've masked off the camo with white tack and Tamiya tape. Then ive sprayed Xtracolour dark green enamel on.It seems to have attracted a bit of dust.So I will have to leave it a few days before sanding a few areas then re spraying.image.jpg

I sprayed some dark green with a bit of yellow mixed in on the model last night. Then I blended it in with a light coat of dark green.Just got home from work and removed all of the masking. It looks odd because I've used Matt ocean grey and gloss dark green. But it will be fine when it's finished.Next job is to give it a couple of coats of gloss clear. Then it will be decal time.image.jpg

Looks great Dave. Your pre-shading and the weathering is working nicely on this one, good stuff.

I'm calling this finished now.I could have done some more weathering but would probably have ruined it.Si I made do with Florymodels dark dirt wash and some exhaust and gun stains made with pastel dust. For the final matt coat I used Alclad Klear Kote Matte.Great stuff.I must say I've really enjoyed this build.Cant see much of the scratch built detail I added though, apart from in the wheel bays.I will be looking out for a cheap Airfix 1/24 at Cosford on Sunday as I fancy another big build (ME109 or FW190).image.jpg

Dave. You have made a bloody good job of that. ('scuse my French).

You fought it and beat it into fine shape.

Good paint job as well. Me like.

Me too, superb work all around Dave. Not sure if you have done a finished thread or not, I'm catching up on a weeks worth of posts, but this is a great build..

Very nice model Dave. A lot of time gone into all that weathering.
