Doug's 1/72 Airfix Wildcat

Here's what I've been up to recently. It's out of the box with no after market bits, and I went for the VF-6 scheme as I loved the stars with the red spot in the middle, and the stripy rudder. I mixed my own paints for the lower and upper surface greys by adding white to Tamiya XF18 and XF83. It's an excellent kit, going together with no problems. The biggest hitch was when I'd finished all the final details and added the aerial wire as a finishing touch, only to find the undercarriage doors all painted and ready to be stuck on. I nearly threw them out while tidying up!P1000720.JPG P1000722.JPG P1000723.JPG P1000724.JPG P1000726.JPG P1000729.JPG P1000731.JPG

I like that one Doug! Beautifully clean paintwork & you'd hardly guess it was 1/72.

Another great finish. I never, but never tidy up until the model is on the shelf. Even then, I might leave it a day or two, just in case.
