REVELL 1/72 CORVETTE.
I have had this kit and been collecting bits and pieces for quite a while, some of which I can't seem to put my hands on at the moment, probably been put in one of my stashed kits.
When it was suggested that there was to be a group build for Battleship/ Destroyers, thought it would push my hand to actually do something with it.
I will also be converting to R/C using parts which I already have in my spares box.
Here is the box and assorted sprue shots with some of the after market parts.

Not sure if I have put this in the right thread?

Should be good to follow. This is one of those 'Marmite' kits, personally, I love it. The brass and extras will lift this nicely.

Following you on this one Greg...I've got the build to do as well but not to the extreme of RC and all the extras, I have what's in the box and some white metal figures (Sgts mess)

This will be an in between build as still in the middle of a Tamiya 1/350 Enterprise R/C build.
A bit slow at the moment as quite a few medical and family matters to deal with.

(I'm still trying to get my head around how a Corvette is a Battleship or destroyer)

Sorry about that Ian, I thought you had given a positive reply to an earlier post regarding this.

(Well this is going so far of the original idea <Battleship> I can only say yes. You can enter with these
Now I will just clear the desk and start again:
Any Fighting SHIP that is NOT an aircraft carrier or assault ship. Any scale from 1/350 and up to 1/35 !
Battleship, Destroyer, Frigate, Corvette, And all the rest. As long as it is not An Aircraft carrier or assault ship. Or Hovercraft :p Or Landing Boat. :p Or MTB :p)

I will be entering another build of the correct genre.
Just need to make room as it's another large one. :smiling3:

@ojays Its OK Gregg as I wrote. You build the Corvette. I would rather have a build that people take part in than an Empty build!

I've got this kit to build, so I'll be watching. Is this going to be an RC conversion. I am just saving up for the full GLS package. At £300 it's a bit of an out lay

yes I'm going to convert to R/C.
I was going to get the GLS package, however I decided it was too expensive so just purchased what I wanted to use.

Managed to get a couple of hours free today so decided to do something simple.
I have several bits and pieces in my spares boxes including a brass rudder assembly, so being a Yorkshire man, waste not want not.
I cut down the brass blade, to be able to fit it inside the kit rudder suitably modified.
Liberally spreading thick cyano and rocket filling medium inside both halves, then clamped them together over the brass blade.

Wow, can't believe I actually got some more spare time today, so cracked on a bit.
The Rudder is now complete
I opened up the prop shaft tunnel and the hole for the rudder shaft, then a liberal coating of poly cement on the hull halves before clamping. I also flooded the interior of the joints with copious amounts of glue.
At a later time I will re-enforce the joints with epoxy resin.
