Hi Guys can anyone answer my question ive built the 1/48th scale acdemy tomcat which at the time I dint know about it but this plane is fitted with glove vanes
but in my new 1/32nd scale trumpeter super tomcat there are none.Did the builder's do away with them as not needed or has trumpeter missed them an left them off the kit ?

The glove vanes were removed from the F-14, as the aircraft was updated. I believe only the A models had them, they were inactivated and left in place, but on major overhaul they were faired over ( 80's onwards ). Later models had increased fuel storage in that area.
Apparently the glove vanes were not very effective, and more trouble than they were worth
