While I'm awaiting on a replacement Corsair for my "Pacific" build (and to keep the momentum up) I'm going to enter this into the SIG.

Instead of cancelling the RAH-66 Comanche project after spending $7 billion on it, the US military decided to keep going with it and brought it into service.

I still haven't decided on a camo scheme for it yet but because the project was cancelled basically anything except Olive Drab is a go really.

I'll get the build on first then decide...

So, thought I should update this.

Got a picture of the camo scheme I'm going for here and some current status shots.

Ignore the fact that the camo is on an LAV, I just thought it was pretty cool and would fit in with this SIG.

So, here is the (almost) current situation, I have one of the other colours on it at the moment. I'm a bit nervous because now that I've started I won't know know how it's going to look until it's finished and I can take all of the tapes off of it.

I did the grand unveiling last night.

It doesn't look too bad actually, it's not exactly like the camo in the picture above but at least now I know what to do to get that in future.

I'm going to keep the in progress shots until the model's complete, don't want to spoil it!

All going well I should only be another 3-4 nights on this one then I can get back to my Pacific SIG.

This is now finished and is in the completed folder (sorry, I don't know how to link to other threads).

Had fun with this one and did it mainly to try out airbrushing a 4 colour camo pattern. Also the first time I've covered a cockpit with tape (I've always brushed the frames by hand in the past).

The cockpit itself wasn't that great so I shaded the canopy with Tamiya Smoke, I think it works well.

There are a few things I would do slightly differently but nothing major really.

I know the rockets don't have any decals on them but the only ones I had were US Army and I didn't want them on a Navy chopper!

Overall I enjoyed this build and think it looks okay.

Here's a teaser...
